In conversation with Emma Curtis of EmMarie Designs at The Autumn Home and Gift Fair, we thought it would be a ‘great idea’ to organise a fashion show to highlight designers and makers from Co Monaghan….in the run up to Christmas.

So the seed was planted and we began working on it sporadically after the tradefair. Fastforward to a event in Concra Wood Golf Club organised by the Monaghan Dublin Business Network. Here I chatted with Eilin Connolly from Monaghan Local Enterprise Office, telling her about our plans for a ‘Made in Monaghan Fashion Show’.

And she suggested that perhaps we could run it in conjunction with Monaghan Women in Business as their Christmas event…..

And this sounded like another ‘great idea’ which was welcomed by Emma when I told her the news. So now it was getting real and exciting! This was going to happen…..

And happen it did, on November 27th in the Westenra Arms Hotel in Monaghan Town, with Monaghan Women In Business co-ordinated by Riona Carrol.

This was a wonderful event, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have loved watching the video of it now as well, bringing back memories of happy times of freedom before lockdown, the kind of events that I really look forward to attending again in the future. The quality of the clothes, garments and accessories was superb. The show was worthy of being televised, future ones definitely should be. If there is a another Mode event in the future, I’m there!
