LizzyC – MonaghanMissesEwe – Ramblin’ Sheep

(Ramblin’  Sheep is of course pronounced without the ‘g’ in our lovely Castleblayney accent)

Let us introduce you to the story behind our social media campaign  MonaghanMissesEwe – Ramblin Sheep.  Since the early days of the lockdown in 2020, people have struggled with not being able to visit and hug their loved ones.  As time has gone on, the loneliness felt for family and friends abroad is heartbreaking. It reminds us of days gone by when people said goodbye to sons and daughters knowing they would not see them again.  We can be at least grateful for the connecting technology that we have today.  Of course technology is no replacement for a kiss and a cuddle but we are thankful for it all the same.

Liz remembers when herself and Pat were travelling in Australia as young ones over 30 years ago and how they loved to get the letter from home. Liz  really missed the Monaghan hills, and knew she would not live happily on flat land.

With this in mind we thought it would be nice to do something to connect with our County Monaghan diaspora.  So we began the social media campaign #monaghanmissesewe.  Our competition is running on our Instagram @lizchristy.handweaver and on our Facebook @LizChristy.Swallow Studios.  Starting with Australia we asked our Monaghan followers to tag their family and friends down-under. A winner from each platform was picked and we have posted out a ‘hug from the hills’. Two lovely White & Blue LizzyC Ramblin Sheep are winging their way  to the winners in Oz.

You too can send a hug from the Monaghan hills to your loved ones, whether they are Down Under or in Dubai, in Canada or California, in Ayreshire or Austria.  Let them know that you are thinking of them with a MonaghanMissesEwe – Ramblin Sheep. Buy now to send a hug to your dearest from Monaghan, with free postage.
