This crios is Liz’s nod to the “Hope” thread that runs through her town. In 1853, the Blayney estate at Muckno passed to Henry Thomas Hope, of the famed Hope family—yes, the same dynasty associated with the Hope Diamond. Under their ownership, the big house took the name Hope Castle, looking out over Lough Muckno and its demesne. The Hopes left Castleblayney in 1916, but their name—and the castle—remain part of Castleblayney’s story today.
Liz has translated that layered heritage into colour: grounded, lake-deep blues and greens for Muckno; warm metal notes recalling the Victorian embellishments at the house; a clean highlight to echo the castle’s pale façade. The result is a crios belt that feels timeless—made for everyday wear, yet quietly celebratory of where we’re from.
Made with love to be enjoyed, treasured and passed on.
