Inspired by the untamed beauty of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, the  Irish Crios Belt– Atlantic is a striking handwoven belt in crisp white and ocean blue colours that echo the crashing surf and endless skies of the western seaboard. Crios (pronounced <em data-start=”394″ data-end=”402″>“Kris”, with Crioseanna as the plural) belts are steeped in Irish heritage, once worn by Aran Island men wrapped around their tweed trousers—a practical and symbolic garment crafted from six vibrant strands of wool, often edged in white.

This particular Crios carries a story as rich as its tradition. Weaver Liz brings each Christy Crios to life on a floor loom salvaged from a property in County Sligo. The loom’s previous owner wished for it to find a good home—and in Liz’s skilled hands, it did. With guidance and encouragement from her mentor, Kitty Joyce of Cleo Ltd., Liz has preserved and perfected this ancient craft, ensuring that the art of crios weaving continues to thrive.

Each Christy Crios is lovingly crafted using <strong class=”yoast-text-mark” data-start=””>=”1147″ data-end=”1179″>beautiful Donegal tweed wool, making it a piece of wearable art and a living link to Ireland’s weaving legacy.
