Designer Scarf – Lunalae – ‘Waterlillies’ – Cerulean Blue

This creative Irish hand crafted scarf is inspired by Claude Monet’s ‘Waterlillies’. Liz Christy’s  hand-dyed kid mohair yarn is woven into the fine cotton warp. The shade is beautiful Cerulean Blue.

This ‘Lunalae’ oversize scarf or wrap is a beautiful hand-woven designer scarf and it makes the perfect authentic Irish gift. Luxury kid mohair looped yarn is used in this weave.  Thus, Liz is reminded of the crescent shaped Bronze Age artifact called a lunala, which was found in Rossmore Park in County Monaghan. This ancient golden treasure,  is now on view in the National Museum of Ireland in Kildare Street in Dublin.

Claude Monet’s ‘Waterlillies’ inspired the beautiful colours, and this is one of Liz’s favourites. Liz has dyed the ‘lunulae’ kid mohair yarn in graduating shades of blue and greens and she named it ‘Cerulean Blue’. These are easy to wear colours  and they shimmer across the cotton warp of the scarf. A Liz Christy signature design, perfect for those who live in the ‘Autumn’ palette.
